With the assistance of HWP-retxx all hotwire probes can easily be positioned and installed in wind tunnels. The retainer itself is composed by the hotwire socket, shaft, clamp flange, chain and chain clamp. The probe can be completely retracted into the shaft. Therefore the sensible probe is safely secured during an installation process. The retraction of the probe is provided by the syntetic chain which is fixed on the hotwire socket and sticks out for capture at the bottom of the shaft. The chain can be fastened by the chain clamp and therefore also the probe. An additionally feature is the possibility of shifting and rotating the shaft while it's fixed in the clamp flange, so every probe position between the wall and maximum shaft length can be adjusted.
The retainer suits for hotwire probes of the HWP10/90 series. The chain has to stay attached to the probe and needs to be ordered in combination with it.
